We started with the question, not the camera

Schools were sold surveillance and asked to find a use for it.

Privacy policy

Version 1 · 6 Oct 2026

This policy says what Veramast (“Veramast”) collects, why, how long it keeps it, and who else receives it. It describes what Veramast does. Each school also has a privacy page made from its own settings, which describes what that school does.

What Veramast collects

On its marketing site, Veramast collects what a visitor sends it, such as a demo request, and counts visits without a cookie or any identifier that follows a visitor to other sites.

In its service, Veramast handles the data a school collects: the school’s users, the students, parents, and staff it registers, their vehicles and plates, permits and their documents, the reads its cameras make at the school’s campuses, and the record of each change.

On its documents site, Veramast collects what a person enters to fill in or sign a document, and the time, address, and browser of each act, which the record of a signature keeps.

Why

Veramast uses this data only to provide the service its customers order, to keep it secure, and to meet the law. It does not sell data, does not use it for advertising, and does not build a profile of any person.

How long

Each school decides how long its data is kept, within the limits the law of its state sets and Veramast enforces. A completed agreement is kept for the life of the relationship and 7 years after. Data a school no longer needs is deleted on the schedule its settings set.

Who receives it

Veramast uses a small number of companies to run the service, each bound by written terms that protect the data at least as well as Veramast does. Veramast publishes the list of them beside this policy, with what each one receives, and tells its customers before it adds one.

Students and families

Data about students and families belongs to their school. Veramast handles it only for the school, as the school’s agreement with Veramast and the law allow, and refers any request about it to the school.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct, or delete data about you. Where a school holds the data, Veramast passes your request to the school and helps it answer. Write to Veramast at support@veramast.com.

Changes

When Veramast changes this policy, it publishes the new version with its date, and earlier versions stay available by their date.

Versions

Version 1, approved 6 Oct 2026. This is the version in effect.

Each later version is published here with its date, and earlier versions stay available, so a school can always read the version it accepted.
