About

We started with the question, not the camera

Schools were sold surveillance and asked to find a use for it. We built the answer to the question they actually ask.

Why Veramast exists

A school should know which vehicles belong on its campus

For a front office, a parking permit has meant a paper form, a row in a spreadsheet, and a hang tag from a shoebox. None of the three can answer the question at the gate.

Veramast answers four questions, in this order.

  1. Is this vehicle allowed to be here, right now?
  2. Who and what is on campus at this moment?
  3. Is the security equipment working?
  4. What happened, who looked, and can the school prove it?

What the research said

Teachers want the rules enforced

We asked 100 teachers about parking at their schools, and what they would accept to fix it.

Wanted parking rules enforced

94% of teachers

Said plate cameras are acceptable

83% of teachers

  • 100teachers surveyed.
  • 78%had a concern about parking.
  • More than 60%knew of no enforcement measure at their school.

So Veramast enforces the permit and the rule behind it, with cameras that read every plate on campus, and shows the school every step.

How we build

Written down first, then built

We write down how the platform must behave before we build it, and every change is checked against what we wrote.

One record

Registration, permits, visitors, and every plate read on campus share one record, so a read already knows the permit.

The school's own address

Staff sign in at their school's own Veramast address, and nothing it holds is visible from another school.

Veramast installs and services the cameras

Our own team installs every Veramast Watchpost, and monitors, repairs, replaces, and updates it for as long as the school has it.

Private by default

Records are kept for a short time by default, and each school gets a privacy page written from its own settings.

Plain words

Every screen says what it means, in the words a front office already uses.

Our commitments

What Veramast will never do

These are built into the platform, so they hold for every school, on every campus.

  1. Let one school see another's records. There is no search across schools, for anyone, Veramast's own staff included.
  2. Sign in to a school's account. When a school needs help, Veramast opens a support session the school can see.
  3. Make a decision a person cannot reverse.Every consequential decision names the rule behind it and the person who can undo it.
  4. Follow visitors to this site around the web. This site counts visits without cookies, with no advertising network and no third-party pixel.
